Foxfire ~ Spirit Paintings

Before I even do the background on the canvas I call upon my spirit guides by drumming and I surround myself in white candles. I’m finding that my spirit guides respond in such a way that I feel that when I do the water wash they are guiding my brush. The background water wash ends up being a painting in itself and I just seem to follow their lead and finish the painting as the spirit guides me.

In this painting, the red moon, feathers, cliff and the howling wolf is the only detail work I did. The rest is the water wash. Let the painting talk to you as it does to me and you will see the other wolves and the caravan of the Cherokee Nation journeying on the ‘Trail of Tears’.
