Elsie Shuder, daughter of Isaac Shuder and Nancy Jane Lavering, was born August 18, 1886 in Kosciusko County, Indiana. She married Charles Wilson Wiseman on March 1, 1906. They had seven children. When the youngest child, my father, was 3 years old, Elsie perished in a house fire which started when she was lighting the kitchen stove on a cold February morning in 1926. She was 40 years old.

Her father, Isaac Shuder, was the son of Christian Schuder, Jr. and Sarah Nancy Huntsicker. Elsie's mother, Nancy Jane Lavering, was the daughter of Daniel Lavering and Elizabeth Ann Long.

Go back several more generations on the SCHUDER and LAVERING lines and they both connect to the STOEVER line. Nancy Jane Lavering is the great-grandaughter of Christian Schuder and Anna Eva Christina Stoever. Isaac Shuder is their grandson. Nancy and Isaac were 1st cousins once removed.
